19-20 End of Year Credits/Grades

Covid 19 High School Credit & Grading Information

The 2019-2020 school year is wrapping up and teachers will begin putting grades into powerschool, please read the following information. 

 

9th-11th Grade Students (8th Graders in HS Classes too)

  • Students who are able must begin completing the credit recovery assignments for the 19/20 school year

  • Students that are not completing the assignments will earn an incomplete grade for 2nd semester in powerschool

  • Students have access to Credit Recovery Google Classrooms for each of their high school courses

  • Teachers are posting 8-12 assignments for students to do on the Credit Recovery Google Classrooms (all assignments will be posted by May 26)

  • Students should be doing these assignments during this voluntary learning time if they are able

  • Parents/Guardians may request access to google classroom by emailing their student’s instructors

  • Once students complete the 8-12 assignments, they will earn credit for 2nd semester

  • Teachers will begin putting completion grades into PowerSchool gradebooks on May 11 to ensure parents have access to student progress on credit recovery

  • Teachers are putting together paper pencil assignments for students that are not doing the online assignments.

  • Students that are unable to do the assignments during the voluntary learning time will receive an incomplete as their 2nd semester grade until they complete the assignments

  • Students will get the option to earn a semester 2 grade that counts toward their GPA or to take a class as pass/no pass (which will not affect GPA). Students are still required to meet graduation requirements in terms of total credits and specific required courses

  • ALL IWCC students: college classes are still required and a grade could be failing if you do not complete the work for these classes. This does include concurrent classes with Ms. Laughlin, Mrs. Martin, and Mrs. Skillern. 

  • ALL AP students: AP teachers should be contacting you with updates and information about these classes.
