7 & 8 FCS Pillowcase Project for Troops

Middle School Family and Consumer Science students recently participated in an exciting community service project. The classroom was contacted by the Daughters of the American Revolution out of Council Bluffs, about making pillow cases to send to our Troops stationed in Niger, Africa. The men and women who are currently stationed there are working on a drone project in the Sahara Desert. Students were asked to make a pillow case along with writing a letter. There were several community members from The Corner Quilters, a quilting club in town, to assist with this project. At the end of the project the FCS class sent 42 pillowcases with notes to be sent after the new year.
