JK-8 Weekly Update
JK-8 Families-- Time is flying by and it is hard to keep up with all the great things that are happening in our building and district. I want to remind you that you can always check our school website or our JK-8 Facebook page to see things that I'm not able to always share in this email.
Please read the following on medication, this has come up a few times this year and we want to make sure everyone understands:
Medications- Students may need to take prescription or non-prescription medication during school hours. Students may not carry medications with them during the school day. Medications must be brought to school with a note from the parents providing permission for the student to take the medication and written instructions and left with the school nurse or office. The school must know the medications a student is taking in the event the student has a reaction or illness. Medication is held in a locked cabinet and distributed by the school nurse. Medication must be in the original container with the following information either on the container, in the instruction sheet or in the parental authorization: name, phone number and address of the pharmacy; directions for use including dosage, times and duration; date of the prescription; name of the physician; potential side effects; and emergency contact information for the parents.
Thank you to everyone who sent loose change to the Penny War this week. I think we deposited just over $300 for the first week. The Penny War continues this week so keep digging for that change, last year we got just over $1000, can we do that again?
Be on the lookout for Parent/Teacher Conference sign-up emails this week. Remember, the name of the teacher you are to meet with is located in the email, so please make sure to sign up with that teacher.
Morning Drop-off: Thank you to those who are making drop-off safe and efficient! There has been a new issue that has developed though that I hope you can help correct. PLEASE DON'T USE THE TURNBULL PARKING LOT AS A DROP-OFF! If you are dropping a kiddo off at Turnbull and your other student walks up from there, that would be fine, but please don't drive into their parking lot to avoid our drop-off line.
