JK-8 Weekly Update
JK-8 Families-- Thank you to all who came out to Parent/Teacher Conferences. I hope everyone received some good feedback about how your student(s) are doing and have some plans for how to make the rest of their school year successful.
We also want to give a big shout out to the K-8 PTO for providing snacks and soups for our building during conferences! The PTO is a great supporter of our students and staff so we want to say THANK YOU to everyone who helped provide for our staff, it is greatly appreciated!
If you weren't able to make it to conferences, report cards will be sent out to you on Monday. If you have any questions or would still like to set up a conference, please contact your student's homeroom teacher.
Here are some fun data points:
The elementary school had 95% of their students/families participate in P/T Conferences while our middle school had 90%! It is awesome that we have that many families who want to know and be a part of their student(s) education!
We ran some numbers on student office referrals and things are looking pretty good from that standpoint as well. We have only had 40 elementary students (of 374) referred to the office for some type of discipline! That means 90% of our elementary students are doing the right thing, day in and day out! That number drops some in the middle school with 81% of our students who haven't been referred to the office so we can work on our MS students a bit more to keep them out of the office.
A big congrats goes to the 6th grade as they have 97% of their class who hasn't been given an office referral, that is an amazing stat!
REMINDER FOR MONDAY: The Elementary Spook Walk and the Middle School Costume Contest will be held on Monday. Elementary students should have gotten information sent home by their teachers. They will put on their costumes toward the end of the day for the Spook Walk, please DO NOT wear your costume to school.
Middle School students may wear their costume to school and participate in the contest. Remember, NO make-up that makes you unrecognizable, no masks, but hats or other headwear are acceptable. Costumes MUST BE SCHOOL APPROPRIATE!
The Middle School students have been hard at work producing their 2nd musical! Come get in the holiday spirit with them!! November 4th and 5th, at 7pm, and again on the 6th, at 2pm, they will be performing Elf Jr in the high school auditorium. They have almost 60 kids involved! Get your tickets today! You can either pay online or at the door. Get your guaranteed tickets by purchasing your online tickets at shenmusical.ludus.com with tickets being $5/adults and $2/students.
Our next elementary music concert is also coming up on Thursday, November 10. The 4th graders are putting on a Veterans Day program, at 5:30, in the JK-8 Commons and we would like to invite any local veterans to attend so we may thank them for their service!
