JK-8 Weekly Update
JK-8 Families-- I hope you are enjoying the Fall temps but it looks like Monday and Tuesday might be a bit much! We continue to have some great days here at school and we look forward to that continuing! If you have a student who has recess, please make sure they are coming with some warmer clothes the next couple of days.
REMINDER: There will be an EARLY OUT AT 1:25 on THURSDAY (Oct 20). We are scheduled to host the Class 2A XC State Qualifying Meet so we will need to get our parking lots cleared out for the guests that we will have in town and at our school.
Wednesday is the last day of the 1st quarter and we will have Parent/Teacher Conferences, the following week, on Thursday, Oct 27. Remember, that means we will not have school on Thursday (Oct 27) or Friday (Oct 28).
You should have gotten an email about Parent/Teacher Conferences and how to sign up. The email has the link to PowerSchool and the steps to getting signed up. Please make sure to look who your student is scheduled to conference with as it may not be their homeroom teacher, that information is also listed in the email. If you have forgotten your PowerSchool password or need help registering, please call the Elementary or Middle School offices.
Don't forget about the 3rd grade music concert coming up on Tuesday (Oct 18) at 5:30. It was great to see our 7th and 8th grade choir perform this past Sunday and we look forward to all of our upcoming elementary concerts.
Red Ribbon Week is coming up on October 24-26. If you want to start preparing, the dress up days will be the following:
Monday: Camo Day (Drugs can't find me) or Dress like a Hippy ( Too Hip for Drugs)
Tuesday: Wear your workout clothes/sweats (Being drug free is no sweat!)
Wednesday: Wear Red (Proud to be drug free)
Monday: No MS Events
Tuesday: MS Football at Spring Garden (MO)
Wednesday: Early Out 1:25
Thursday: EARLY OUT 1:25 for XC Meet
Friday: No MS Events
As always, don't forget to check out our school website (www.shencsd.com) or Facebook page (www.facebook.com/shenpk8) to keep up with what we are doing here at school.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. Thanks and have a great week! --Mr. Burdorf #horsepower
