Weekly Update April 24
JK-8 Families-- There is one week left in April! As I said in a previous message, this time of year just flies by. With so many events on the calendar, it seems no one is sitting down for very long. That being said, here at school, we still have a lot to get done too!
Our students continue to stay focused and are working really hard in the classroom, I hope to see that continue for the last five weeks! We will finish up our yearly testing periods with FAST and iReady testing during the first two weeks of May. We are also looking forward to getting our preliminary ISASP testing results.
This week the 7th and 8th grade track teams will be in action when they host their co-ed meet on Tuesday. They will also be in action Thursday (@ Red Oak) and Friday (@ FM). Best of luck to those athletes.
I sent out an email earlier this week but as a reminder to the 5th and 6th grade parents, the music concert scheduled for Tuesday has been postponed until the May 17 Showcase night.
Another big event happens this Saturday. The PTO will be sponsoring their yearly youth track meet. This is a great event and a lot of fun! If you are interested in participating (ages 5-12) you may still register, the day of, from 8:30-9:15. Registration closes at 9:15 (No exceptions) and competition will begin at 10am.
The 2022 Spring Art Walk is also coming up. Thursday, May 5th through Saturday, May 7th, select student artwork has been chosen to be on display at the Shenandoah Public Library. Middle school and high school art will be upstairs while elementary art will be downstairs.
The art show will run Thursday (10:00am - 8:00pm), Friday (10:00am - 6:00pm) and Saturday (10:00 - 6:00pm).
Lastly, the Shenandoah Medical Center and the Athletic Booster Club have partnered again for our 4th-6th grade Acceleration Summer Camp. This is a great FREE opportunity for our younger athletes! Please see the attached letter for more information.
