Weekly Update Oct 24
JK-8 Families-- Well this Sunday is certainly gloomy. With the rain pouring down and the colder temps, I hope you have found a way to relax and unwind today. Maybe a few family games to end your weekend might be a good way to wrap up your weekend.
We finished Quarter 1 on Wednesday and are now into Quarter 2. Grades are being completed and report cards will go out this week. Don't forget that Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Thursday from 8am-8pm so we are hopeful you can attend either in-person, via Zoom, or a phone call. Make sure you are using the previously sent links to get signed up.
With P/T Conferences also comes the Book Fair. The Book Fair will take place in the K-8 Library so stop in or visit https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bookfairs/cptoolkit/homepage.do?method=homepage&url=shenandoahelementaryschool5 for online options.
Also, don't forget that there will be NO SCHOOL on Friday, Oct 29.
Congratulations to the 5th/6th grade tackle football team on winning the Pride of Iowa Youth Football Championship, wrapping up an undefeated season, on Saturday! Congrats to all the youth football players and youth volleyball players who had numerous successful weekends this Fall, we look forward to watching all of these young athletes continue to grow.
We are also looking forward to seeing some of our young actors/actresses in their upcoming show Matilda Jr. They have been working extremely hard for their upcoming shows on November 5th and 6th. If you are interested in tickets, please contact Julie Murren (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information.
JK-4 families, don't forget about the Spook Walk on Wednesday. Please have your student bring their costume to school and we will hold the Spook Walk at the end of the day.
As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. Thank you! --Mr. Burdorf #horsepower
