Weekly Update Sept 12
JK-8 Families-- It is HOMECOMING WEEK! For us here in the JK-8 building, we will celebrate with dress-up days and the middle schoolers will attend the school pep rally at the high school on Friday. This week can be full of distractions and silliness but the positive school pride is always a fun time.
Some key reminders about this week:
Dress up days -
Monday - Monster Monday: Dress up like a monster of your choice!
Examples: Zombie, Mummy, Vampire (remember NO MASKS)
Tuesday - Tailgate Tuesday: Wear some gear from your favorite professional or college team.
Wednesday - Cowboys vs. Aliens: Dress up like a Cowboy or Alien. You decide!
Thursday - Generations Day (simplified): All JK-8 students should dress like an adult of any age or generation. All Staff should dress like their students of this generation or one from the past.
Friday - Spirit Day: Wear all your Shenandoah gear!
Tuesday through Thursday the High School Digital Steam class will be selling Homecoming Buttons for $3. These will only be available each morning before school.
On Friday morning, the K-8 PTO will be selling Tattoos and Beads for $1 each. Due to the overwhelming crowds we get for these, we are going to ask that each student only purchase one tattoo so we can keep the line moving.
Also on Friday, don't forget that we will have a 1:25 early out so that students, staff, and the community can attend or participate in the Homecoming Parade.
We had a great first week of middle school activities with both football teams beating SWV, the 7th grade volleyball team winning over Clarinda and some outstanding performances by the XC runners! Here are the upcoming events for this week:
Monday: XC @ Red Oak, Community Pep Rally (HS Gym) 7:30
Tuesday: MS VB @ Atlantic
Wednesday: Early Out 1:25
Thursday: MS FB @ Clarinda, MS XC @ SWV
Friday: Early Out 1:25 for Homecoming Parade
