Driver’s Education

 

When: Tuesday, June 1st                Monday, June 7th

            Wednesday June 2nd          Tuesday, June 8th

            Thursday, June 3rd              Wednesday, June 9th

            Friday, June 4th                   Thursday, June 10th

            Saturday, June 5th               Friday, June 11th

Each day 8:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.  THESE DAYS ARE REQUIRED. Driving times will be determined during class.   

 

Where: High School Classrooms taught by two Certified Instructors unless COVID-19 restrictions dictate us to move class to virtual. 

 

Cost: $300.00 (Add $25.00 for non-SHS students) *Adjustment for Free/Reduced Lunch 

 

Requirements:  

  • Students must provide a copy of their drivers permit upon registration. 

  • Students are required to attend all ten three hour classes.

  • Classroom work must be completed at 70% or higher.

  • Students driving will be on a pass/fail scale.

  • Students are required to have 6 hours of “Behind the Wheel” drive time with the instructor, and 12 hours of observation time (in the car while others are driving.)

Note:  Payment is due prior to first class on June 1st.  Checks need to be payable to Shenandoah Community Schools.  Space is limited, so sign up by emailing nebelp@shenandoah.k12.ia.us to arrange payment drop off or mailing.
