Weekly Update March 7
K-8 Families-- Not only was the weather fantastic this past week but we think we had a pretty great week at school too! I know one thing is for sure, attitudes greatly improve when the sun is out. Make sure you are getting out and enjoying these days.
I think Read Across America week was a great success. It was a lot of fun to see all our elementary students enjoying themselves with the games in the gyms! Thank you to the PTO for helping with the materials and helping put the games together, it was greatly appreciated and the kids loved it! Thank you to the MS Student Council members who helped run the games all day as well!
It was also awesome to see the 5th-8th graders reading with our elementary students to start our day on Wednesday. After seeing that, there was and will continue to be a lot of discussion about how we can make that happen more often. We also had Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday. Thank you to everyone who participated and met with your student's teachers. Both the JK-4 and the 5-8 buildings had around 90% participation! Thank you to the PTO and anyone who donated to them for providing snacks and pizza for supper. Also a big shout out to HyVee and Fareway for providing a bunch of snacks and drinks to keep our teachers energy up all day! It is great to feel the community support of our staff!
Just a reminder that if you are signing up for your student for 3rd-6th grade baseball or softball, those sign up forms are due on Wednesday. I have attached the registration form for that sign up.
I've also been asked to pass on information about the Wabash Arts Camp. I have attached the registration form for this summer's camp.
