Weekly Update January 17

K-8 Families--  Well, we had a snow day on Friday and although it wasn't one where the kids could go out and enjoy it in the snow, I hope you and your family were able to make it memorable or just took a fully relaxing day in your PJs.

This week, we come back and jump right into the second semester.  Report cards will be coming out on Friday for the second quarter, so be on the lookout for those.

Please remember that masks are REQUIRED for our students and staff.  We have handed out a lot of disposable masks this year but if I could please request that you help us out with making sure your students are coming to school with a mask that would be greatly appreciated.  Some students have even been given a reusable mask by our staff but we still have some students who continually come with nothing.  Help our students become responsible by bringing their own each day.

Unfortunately, the snow stopped our boys basketball team getting to play their last game of the season and delayed the start to the middle school wrestling start but we did get to see our MS girls basketball team in action throughout the week.  On Thursday, it was fun to see both the 7th and 8th graders beat up on the black and orange team from just up North and we hope to see those girls teams continue to develop and grow throughout their season.

Upcoming events:

Monday, Jan 18: NO SCHOOL, MS WR at Red Oak

Tuesday, Jan 19: MS Girls BB at Sidney

Wednesday, Jan 20: Early Out

Thursday, Jan 21: MS Girls BB (H) vs East Mills played at the High School gym, MS WR at Creston

Again, don't forget to check out our school website (www.shencsd.com) or Facebook page (www.facebook.com/shenpk8) to keep up with what we are doing here at school.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.  Thanks and have a great week!  --Mr. Burdorf #horsepower
