Contemporary Affairs Winning Website

Mr. Kirkholm’s Contemporary Affairs class just completed their unit on endangered animals.  During this class the students were paired up and had to come up with a webpage for a zoo that centered around 16 endangered animals.  The students had 4 parts to this webpage ranging from an information page for each endangered animal, a mission statement, to how their zoo functioned.  To get pictures for their websites the groups paired up with students from Mrs. Wittmers photography class and traveled to the Omaha Zoo to get photos of their endangered animals.  The pictures they took during this field trip had to be incorporated into their webpages.

Once  the Webpages were graded they were sent out and judged by a web designer from Sioux City.  The judging was based on a 4 point rubric with 10 different categories. The winner of this competition was Reese Spiegel and Jocleyn Kirk with a total of 34 points out of 40.  The winning website is included (below) with this article plus picture of the girls with their plaques.

Congrats to these 2 girls for a great job.
