Mrs. Toms's kindergarten classroom is working on color words and brainstorming things that are the color of the day.  Today was the color brown. They each had 5 minutes to draw all the things they could think of that were brown.  Then the students went around their tables listening to each other. If they all agreed the object that was said could be brown, they filled in the middle. The final step was all the groups coming together as a class and making a list of things that are brown. Mrs. Toms was very excited to see the cooperation of the class and to listen to their conversations. The class were "rockstars" doing this activity.  Kagan training has been part of the teacher's professional development in-service days.
