Each month Shenandoah Middle School recognizes one boy and one girl from each grade as Students of the Month. Student's teachers make nominations and each student is given consideration based on character pillars, grades, behavior, extra-curricular involvement, and other school based positive involvement. The winners for April and May 2018 were: 
5th: Elijah Jacobs, Courtney Hodge, Connor York, Alexandria Miguel, Hunter Swank, Lexie Schebaum, Logan Herr, Nora Kirkpatrick
6th: Hunter Kellogg, Natalie Slape, Jade Spangler, Abby Martin
7th: Hunter Tompkins, Amelia Mattes, Triston Akers, Mia Wallace
8th: Jacob Jackson, Evan Holmes, Halle Wheatley, Cassie Morris
